The Kansas City Chiefs won their 12th consecutive game on Monday night with a convincing victory over the Baltimore Ravens, and after slipping to the No. 2 spot in several of the various "power rankings" from around the web last week, the reigning Super Bowl champions are squarely back in the top position just about everywhere you look.
For starters, Dan Hanzus of NFL.com moved Kansas City back into the No. 1 spot this week in his rankings. Here's a portion of what he had to say about the Chiefs' performance against Baltimore:
"Statement Game? Statement Game. The Chiefs went to Baltimore on Monday night and punched the Ravens in the mouth. The man landing the majority of those uppercuts and overhand rights was -- of course -- the great Patrick Mahomes, who accounted for five touchdowns in another dominant performance."
The folks at CBS Sports agreed with that analysis, citing Kansas City as the best team in football:
"Is there any doubt they are the best team? Going to Baltimore and dominating the Ravens just solidifies it."
And here's this from The Ringer, who also have Kansas City atop their rankings:
"…It served as the perfect reminder that with Mahomes under center, the Chiefs are still the best team in the NFL."
It's more of the same from ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, USA Today, Bleacher Report and the Sporting News, who each ranked Kansas City as the No. 1 team in the NFL entering Week 4.
The Chiefs began the 2020 campaign on a mission to prove that one championship season wasn't enough, and at least through three weeks, the defending Super Bowl champions are still the best team in football.
