Power Rankings Week 2 | Where do the Chiefs Rank Following Thursday's Victory?

Here’s a look at the latest NFL power rankings from around the web

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 27-20, to kick off the 2024 season with a victory on Thursday night. The win, which marked Kansas City's eighth season-opening victory in the last 10 years, also meant the Chiefs unanimously maintained their top spot in the various NFL "power rankings" from around the web.

The Sporting News was among the numerous outlets to rank Kansas City as the No. 1 team in the league after Week 1, citing the following analysis:

"The Chiefs came out finding more weapons for Patrick Mahomes and made the key defensive plays to remind the Ravens and the rest of the league how big of favorites they are to win a third consecutive Super Bowl."

Frank Schwab of Yahoo! Sports echoed a similar sentiment in his rankings, which featured the Chiefs as his No. 1 team. Here's what Schwab had to say about Kansas City:

"A Chiefs trio of Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown (when he's healthy) should be scary for the rest of the NFL. Rice looked sharp in the opener and Worthy's playmaking ability will have to be accounted for on every snap. Oh, and Travis Kelce is still a factor in the passing game. Patrick Mahomes is going to have some fun this season."

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco also had the Chiefs atop his rankings this week. Here's what Prisco wrote about the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions:

"We won't be worrying about their receivers this season. Xavier Worthy can fly and Rashee Rice is taking his game up a notch. Patrick Mahomes will light it up again."

Here's a look at where the Chiefs landed in a handful of other "power rankings" from around the web:
