The Kansas City Chiefs lost a heartbreaker on Sunday, falling to the Cincinnati Bengals on the final play of the game. The loss snapped the Chiefs' eight-game winning streak, but the experts from around the league still view Kansas City as one of the top teams in the NFL.
The folks at USA Today placed the Chiefs at No. 2 in their power rankings this week behind only Green Bay, citing wide receiver Tyreek Hill's tremendous season in their analysis:
"Tyreek Hill's 110 receptions are a single-season team record…Despite Sunday's stumble in Cincinnati, no one is going to want to see Hill or Kansas City once the playoffs start."
Kansas City also checked in at No. 2 in Sports Illustrated’s latest rankings, once again trailing only the Packers. Here's a portion of what SI's Conor Orr wrote about the Chiefs despite Sunday's loss:
"They are still a collection of star players immensely familiar with one another and led by one of the greatest coaches in NFL history."
Here's a look at where the Chiefs landed in a handful of other "power rankings" from around the web:
