The Kansas City Chiefs were back in the win column on Sunday afternoon with a victory over the New England Patriots, which locked up an eleventh-straight winning season while also moving Kansas City up in the various NFL "power rankings" from around the web.
For example, the Chiefs checked in at No. 6 in the Sporting News’ rankings this week, trailing the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
Here's a portion of what the rankings' author, Vinnie Iyer, wrote about Kansas City:
"The Chiefs didn't care about style points against the Patriots, but a funny thing happened: They rose to the occasion with their offensive scheming when challenged more and ended up scoring plenty of Chiefs-like points. Also, their defense can almost carry them at times."
