The Kansas City Chiefs enjoyed some well-deserved time off this past weekend following their victory in Germany earlier this month, but despite not taking the field, they still claimed the No. 2 spot in virtually all of the various NFL "power rankings" from around the web this week.
For example, the Chiefs checked in at No. 2 in NFL.com’s rankings, trailing only Philadelphia. Here's a portion of Lead Draft Writer Eric Edholm's analysis:
"Through nine games, the Chiefs are in the same spot as they were a season ago, when they'd eventually go on to win the Super Bowl: 7-2 and atop the AFC. Even the point differentials (plus-64 through nine games last year, plus-65 this year) are nearly identical."
