The 2019 regular season is in the books, and while the Kansas City Chiefs still have some football left, the weekly "NFL power rankings" that so often dominate the web are out for the final time this year.
Kansas City checked in at No. 4 in NFL.com’s rankings, trailing the Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers. ESPN agreed with that placement, also slotting the Chiefs in at No. 4 behind those three teams, though they had the Saints and 49ers swapped.
Bleacher Report, meanwhile, has the Chiefs at No. 2 this week behind only Baltimore. Here's a portion of what the staff at B/R had to say about Kansas City:
"[The] defense has been much improved of late, and combined with their explosive offense, the Chiefs have the look of one of the more dangerous teams in the playoffs."
Elsewhere, the Chiefs checked in at No. 3 in The Sporting News' rankings. Here's what writer Vinni Iyer said about Kansas City:
"The Chiefs' offense keeps finding more answers around Patrick Mahomes with his full health and Damien Williams taking over the backfield like he did late last season. Steve Spagnuolo's [defense] has paid off big-time, from Frank Clark to defensive MVP Tyrann Mathieu."
Here's a look at where the Chiefs landed in a few other power rankings from around the web:
Yahoo! Sports - No. 4
USA Today - No. 4
Houston Chronicle – No. 4
