The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the Coach of the Week honors for the eighth week of the 2024 season. The Week Eight awards went to Park Hill High School Head Coach Andy Sims (Missouri) and Spring Hill High School Head Coach Jason Feeback (Kansas).
As a result of this honor, the awarded schools will receive a $500 grant from the Hunt Family Foundation. Additionally, the coaches will be presented a pair of sunglasses, courtesy of Oakley, and a certificate recognizing their selection. These coaches are now qualified for the Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award, which will be voted on later this fall. The Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award is selected by a panel comprised of the Missouri and Kansas Boards from the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association.
Park Hill High School defeated Oak Park High School 45-15 to secure the No. 1 seed in 2024's Missouri High School Football Class 6 District 7. The win also earned the Trojans the Suburban Red Conference title, as they finished the regular season 5-0 in the league and 7-2 overall. Coach Sims said this award is for everyone in the program.
"It's always great when your program is recognized for their dedication and hard work," Sims shared. "Thank you so much to the Chiefs for choosing us. This staff does a fantastic job of coaching. They put in countless hours on the field, but they are also excellent teachers and motivators off the field. Our players have worked so hard this season and off-season. They have overcome numerous injuries, believed in one another, have been very coachable and are simply great young men. I'm blessed to be their coach."
Spring Hill High School defeated Louisburg High School 14-13 to win the Frontier League title. The Broncos gave the Wildcats their first loss of the season. Coach Feeback said he was honored to accept this on behalf of the entire program.
"Spring Hill Football would like to thank the Kansas City Chiefs for this tremendous honor," Feeback shared. "This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our players and coaches with the support of our amazing community of parents, students, administrators and fans."
