As Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid prepares his team for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, there's at least the possibility that he'll go into that game without running back Jamaal Charles or cornerback Phillip Gaines.
"Jamaal was limited today, and [Phillip] Gaines was limited today," Reid told the media on Friday afternoon. "We've got them (listed) as questionable for Sunday's game."
Charles, who played 15 offensive snaps and had 11 touches for 45 yards and a touchdown last week against the Oakland Raiders, would be looking at his first game of the season at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. He missed the first three games of the season as he continued to work his way back from a knee injury that cost him most of last season.
Charles played 10 snaps in his debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers back in Week 4.
"Jamaal's knee had a little bit of swelling in it (on Thursday) and we were just taking it down for today," Reid added. "We think everything will be alright as we go."
Gaines left the game early against the Raiders last week and did not return. He did not practice on Wednesday and was limited both Thursday and Friday.
