Mahomes connected with Hunt for a 6-yard touchdown on Kansas City's first offensive drive and again for a 15-yard score later in the half, providing the Chiefs with an early advantage.
The second-year running back amassed 89 total yards of offense in the half for Kansas City, catching multiple touchdowns for the first time since his record-setting professional debut against New England in Week 1 of last season.
The Bengals answered Hunt's second score with a touchdown of their own, but Mahomes led the Chiefs into the end zone yet again in the closing minutes of the half with a 17-yard scoring strike to tight end Demetrius Harris.
Kicker Harrison Butker added a 26-yard field goal with seconds remaining on the clock to complete the scoring for Kansas City.
