1. Chiefs-Jets scouting report
By Randy Covitz - The Kansas City Star
"When the Chiefs run
EDGE >> JETS
Jamaal Charles (363 yards) and Knile Davis (401) rank first in the NFL among all running back tandems in which both players have rushed for at least 275 yards. But the Chiefs, who rank third in the league in rushing, will go up against the fifth-ranked team in rushing defense, and it could take some patience to crack a tough defensive front of Sheldon Richardson, Damon Anderson and Muhammad Wilkerson. 2. Josh Mauga overcomes injuries, uncertainty to become a reliable starter for Chiefs
By Terez Paylor - The Kansas City Star
"Josh Mauga settled into his crouch, ready to pounce.
This was Oct. 19, the second quarter of the Chiefs' 23-20 win over the San Diego Chargers, and a Chiefs coach had just told him to be alert for the screen pass, based on the formation. The moment Mauga saw running back Ronnie Brown shuffle into the right flat, Mauga took off like a rocket, split two pulling offensive linemen and wiped out the third-and-long play. " READ MORE…

5. American Indian Heritage Month
By KCChiefs.com - KCChiefs.com
"American Indian Center of the Great Plains Statement
The opportunity to engage in a dialogue with the Kansas City Chiefs is an opportunity for the American Indian Center of the Great Plains (AICGP) to be consistent with our mission to create an awareness and understanding of issues affecting Native people. Native people and American Indian tribes have consistently encouraged consultation with our communities to better understand and address issues affecting us. In furtherance of our mission, we have organized an American Indian Community Working Group to serve as a liaison with our Native community to work with the Kansas City Chiefs in an advisory capacity.
We embrace a goal to positively impact the Native Community of the Great Plains Region and the Kansas City metro with emphasis on job creation, education, cultural programs and youth sports. We are rooted in this community; and, we believe that relationships are important. While we respect the diverse perspectives that exist in Indian Country on broadly addressing the mascot issue in our nation, we recognize the opportunity to engage in a cross ‐ cultural consultation and dialogue with the Kansas City Chiefs in hopes of facilitating a process that – over time – can lead to a cultural change in disrespectful behavior seen at times by some fans at the NFL games. We reached out to the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year and appreciate their sincere effort to better understand the issues from a Native perspective. We have been educated on the history and values of the Chiefs organization; and, we believe there is an opportunity to educate on the issues through connecting our community here and honoring traditions" READ MORE…
