It was one of the most surprising and intriguing storylines from the Kansas City Chiefs' 2016 season—the emergence of rookie fifth-round pick Tyreek Hill, who ultimately led the Chiefs' receivers with 61 receptions for 593 yards and six touchdowns.
The production was welcomed in the receiver's room with veteran Jeremy Maclin missing a chunk of time during the year with a groin injury.
Hill proved to be one of the NFL's elite young playmakers by displaying electric speed and a game-changing ability every time he touched the ball.
Not even eight games into his NFL career, Hill already found himself on Dante-Hall-level status for Chiefs fans when it comes to feeling like he's going to break off a huge play at any given moment.
Consequently, the expectations for Hill are only going to grow moving forward.
Maclin, as he did last year, led a young group of receivers training in Kansas City this offseason. Joining Maclin, Albert Wilson and Chris Conley this year was Hill, who seems to be doing what he needs to take that next step in 2017.
Overall, every receiver who played a snap for the Chiefs last year is set to return this season.
Here's a look at the snap counts and production from the Chiefs' receivers last year:
Last year, the Chiefs kept six receivers on the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. There are also 10 spots available on the practice squad, which the Chiefs used on at least one receiver for much of the year.
