Overheard: Red Friday

The Chiefs are hosting a Pep Rally to celebrate Red Friday downtown on the KC Live! stage at the Power and Light District. RSVP here. 

Twelve Chiefs players will be in attendance: QB Alex Smith, RB Jamaal Charles, WR Dexter McCluster, DT Dontari Poe, LB Justin Houston, P Dustin Colquitt, WR Dwayne Bowe, T Branden Albert, CB Brandon Flowers, S Eric Berry, DL Mike DeVito, K Ryan Succop. 

The Chiefs are excited to meet some of the fans and kickoff the home opener at the Red Friday Pep Rally.

Branden Albert:

"Because you see that Sea of Red. When you pull up to the stadium Sunday morning and see everybody tailgating, you know it's go time. Everybody is excited and everybody's barbecuing and you see the Sea of Red and when that game starts it's breathtaking – it'll take you back."

Dwayne Bowe:

"It's something to get the community involved, the fans that have been waiting all year for this. It's a wonderful feeling, going out there and meeting the fans and getting involved and letting them know what were about to get into this weekend."

Brandon Flowers:

"Just to interact with the fans before Sunday. This city gets CRAZY for Red Friday; I just want to be a part of that, first taste of Red Friday, just seeing all their faces and hearing them screaming before the game on Sunday."

Mike DeVito:

"Red Friday is like a super-sized appetizer to get the best fans in the world ready for the main course, game day at Arrowhead on Sunday."
