There hasn't been a shortage of well-deserved honors this offseason for cornerback Marcus Peters, the Kansas City Chiefs first-round pick from 2015.
In his rookie season, Peters tied for the NFL lead with 8 interceptions, broke the franchise record for passes defensed in a season with 26 and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl, which will take place in Hawaii later this month.
On Tuesday, the Pro Football Writers of America announced that Peters could add another trophy to his growing collection by naming him their 2015 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Peters was already named to the PFWA All-AFC team on Monday, along with linebacker Derrick Johnson and safety Eric Berry.
Center Mitch Morse was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie team as well.
