It must be getting closer to the start of the NFL regular season because power rankings are back in full force.
Love 'em or hate 'em, the truth is fans want to know if their favorite team is getting enough respect.
According to the latest rankings at ESPN.com, the Kansas City Chiefs come in at No. 8.
It's the same spot they were slotted in their post-draft rankings as well.
While obviously these rankings really don't matter, it still gives you an idea of how the team is being perceived on a national level, and everyone seems to be in agreement that the Chiefs are going to be pretty good this year.
Rounding out the rest of the AFC West, the Oakland Raiders come in at No. 7, the Denver Broncos at No. 9, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 24.
The Chiefs have won three straight over the Broncos, and seven of the last eight over the Raiders. Overall, the Chiefs have won 11-straight divisional games.
The Chiefs return to preseason action Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. CT against the Cincinnati Bengals. The game can be seen locally on KCTV5.
