Rookie running back Kareem Hunt has been turning heads throughout training camp so far and it hasn't gone unnoticed.
NFL Network's Kay Adams cited Hunt as a potential breakout candidate this season on the Wednesday morning edition of "Good Morning Football."
"This is a breakout guy. He's been getting accolades all throughout training camp," Adams said. "He can catch the ball and they're going to need that. I think he and Alex Smith have already developed a rapport and Andy Reid loves him, you can tell."
The Chiefs drafted Hunt in the third round of the 2017 Draft after a record-shattering career at the University of Toledo, where he left as the program's all-time leading rusher with 4,945 yards.
GMFB panelist and former wide receiver Nate Burleson thinks Hunt's collegiate success will translate to the next level.
"His numbers in college were crazy," Burleson said. "When you're putting up those numbers that will last a lifetime in college, it's going to translate. It's just a matter of him getting the opportunity."
Hunt will have another chance to impress on Friday night as the Chiefs kickoff the preseason against the San Francisco 49ers at 8 p.m. Fans can catch the game on KCTV5.
