The Kansas City Chiefs, in partnership with KCP&L, launched the Community MVP Program Wednesday.
The program spotlights youth residents between the ages of 13 and 18 in the greater Kansas City region that are working hard to give back with a scholarship.
"We're connected to this region through the energy we provide, but our commitment goes much further," said Katie McDonald, KCP&L's director of corporate communications. "This scholarship program allows us to highlight and reward the hard work of some deserving students in our region. In addition to the scholarships, we will be able to honor these young men and women at Arrowhead Stadium with a very special game day experience."
To decide the scholarship winner, 10 finalists will be selected by KCP&L from all the nominations submitted.
During the voting period, one finalist with the most votes will receive a $5000 scholarship. The other nine finalists will each receive a $1000 scholarship.
In addition, all finalists will receive a VIP game day experience at the Chiefs versus Raiders game on January 3, 2016.
