Arrowhead Stadium returns to the national stage on Sunday night as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Green Bay Packers, and for the second time this season, every fan in the stands can directly contribute to the growing excitement prior to kickoff by participating in an interactive light show using their phones.
It's easy to join, too, requiring only a smartphone and the Chiefs Mobile App in addition to a few simple steps.
Before the game, open up the Chiefs Mobile App and tap "Arrowhead Light Show" at the top of the home page. On game day, it will read as "Join the Light Show" instead.
Next, click "Accept and Continue," and a new screen will appear with an "Enable Microphone" button at the bottom. Click that button and then hit "OK" when the App asks for confirmation.
The App needs access to the microphone in order to synchronize with the music used during the show.
Repeat that process on the next screen, which says, "Enable Camera," and then the phone is ready to go.
This step is necessary so that once the show begins, fans can capture the moment with both photo and video capabilities within the screen fueling the light show. Just tap the photo icon at the bottom of the screen to take a single picture or hold it to record a video. Whatever is captured will then deposit directly into the phone's camera roll.
Be sure to run through these steps ahead of time, and as kickoff nears, a push notification – in addition to messaging around the stadium – will prompt fans that the show is about to begin. Click the three stacked lines icon in the upper left-hand corner and hit "Exit" to navigate the App in the meantime if needed.
Repeating the steps isn't necessary when the show is imminent, just simply enter back into the Chiefs Mobile App, tap "Join the Light Show" again and wait for the magic to get underway.
It all makes for an awesome addition to the pre-game experience at Arrowhead, drawing from each and every fan to make it special.
Simply put, fans won't want to miss it.
