Kansas City Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, along with general manager John Dorsey flew to Atlanta on Monday to meet with safety Eric Berry and his family. Berry is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for lymphoma.
"We sat for about two hours with Eric and it was just a wonderful time," Dorsey said. "I just want to reassure everybody that he's doing great. He looks great."
Berry is going through treatment at the Emory Lymphoma Program at Emory's Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.
"I can't say enough for Clark for taking that day off in his busy schedule to go down there and see Eric," Dorsey said. "It just shows you that the organization—he's one of us. I just wanted him to know that and Clark wanted him to know that as well."
While Eric continues this fight away from the field, those who can recall the way he approached his battles on the field can understand the determination he'll attack this treatment with.
"Eric is the ultimate competitor," Dorsey said. "He was in really good spirits."
