Chiefs to Host Fourth-Annual Recycling Drive at Arrowhead Stadium

Team to raffle off autographed Chiefs items to participants of this Extra Yard for the Environment program

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the fourth-annual community-wide recycling drive at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, October 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive, part of the club's Extra Yard for the Environment sustainability program, will feature a number of local vendors accepting hundreds of different types of items, making this one of the most encompassing one-stop recycling opportunities for metro-area residents.

Individuals are encouraged to preview the full list of participating vendors at http://www.chiefs.com/recycle and the items they will be accepting to see how they can take full advantage of the recycling event. All recycling, with the exception of a few select items, is free of charge. Please visit the website for details and associated costs.

Patrons who recycle or donate items will receive a ticket for admittance into the Chiefs Sports Lab or a stadium tour. Chiefs autographed items will be raffled off during the event. Chiefs Kingdom Rewards members may also earn points for dropping off items. Aramark, concessionaire partner of the Kansas City Chiefs and official merchandise provider for shop.chiefs.com, will be onsite providing free snacks.

Since the Chiefs began implementing and tracking sustainability efforts in 2011, the club has diverted 532 tons of food waste and compost, 969 tons of plastics and other recyclable materials and has donated more than 24 tons of food through various food recovery programs. Throughout the process, the club has formed relationships with a number of like-minded community allies that help make this recycling event possible.
