Chiefs Rookie Minicamp: 68 Players Set to Participate, Plus Other Important Info

Here’s the roster of players who will attend the three-day minicamp this weekend

The Kansas City Chiefs will hold their three-day rookie minicamp beginning on Saturday afternoon.

The 68 players set to participate will be out on the field Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with media availability each day.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid will speak with the media Saturday before practice (~ 12:00 p.m. CT), and Monday after practice (~ 1:00 p.m. CT).

Between the six members of the Chiefs' 2018 draft class, plus the 14 undrafted free agents who just recently signed contracts, and then the 43 tryout guys and a handful of other eligible players, including a few who have already been with the Chiefs, there will be a total of 68 players participating in the minicamp this year.

Considering all but five of these guys have ever seen a Chiefs' playbook, these practices generally run a little slower with a lot more teaching taking place by the coaching staff between reps. That said, there's always a few players who stand out and give us a glimpse of what we can only *hope to see *once the pads come on at training camp.

The biggest area these players can impress coaches and personnel guys is their ability to retain a lot of information being thrown at them in a short amount of time.

Last year, besides the obvious guys like Patrick Mahomes  and Kareem Hunt, it was Marcus Kemp—the undrafted free agent receiver out of Hawaii who was signed *before *the camp—who impressed in limited reps.

Kemp spent time on the Chiefs' practice squad last year after an impressive preseason and was active for one game in 2017—playing eight snaps on offense in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Chiefs also signed running back Devine Redding, cornerback Stanley-Jean Baptiste, defensive lineman Ricky Ali'ifua, tight end Emmanuel Byrd, punter Will Monday, and receiver Jamari Staples following last year's rookie minicamp.

All six of those players came on a tryout basis.

So, who might impress the Chiefs' coaches and personnel staff enough at rookie minicamp this year to sign contracts?

Here's a list of the players who will participate this weekend:
