The Kansas City Chiefs have announced their preseason television and radio talent teams for the 2024 season. The club's in-house preseason television network will return its full crew from 2023. The Chiefs Radio Network crew that originally debuted during the 2020 season will return for a fifth-consecutive year in 2024 and Tico Sports will see a new crew configuration this season.
"We have some of the finest broadcasters in the industry bringing their talents to our preseason telecasts and our radio airwaves once again," Chiefs Vice President of Content and Production Robert Alberino, Jr. said. "Our goal is to consistently deliver world-class broadcasts to Chiefs Kingdom and we're excited to begin telling the story of the 2024 campaign in Jacksonville this weekend."
The Chiefs Preseason Television booth will feature national broadcast veteran Ari Wolfe as the play-by-play announcer for the fifth season in 2024. Former Pro Bowl quarterback and NFL on CBS analyst Trent Green returns to the booth for his 14th season as the preseason crew's color commentator. Joining Wolfe and Green for her third year as sideline reporter for the Chiefs Preseason Television team is Kimmi Chex, a Kansas City, Missouri, native and on-air host and personality for NFL Media. Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen is entering his fourth season delivering sideline features and reports for the preseason broadcasts. All three preseason games are produced by 65 Toss Power Trap Productions. The first (Saturday, August 10 at Jacksonville) and third (Thursday, August 22 vs. Chicago) preseason games will air locally on 38 The Spot KCMI while the Saturday, August 17 game vs. Detroit will air on KSHB. All three preseason games will also be simulcast on NFL Network.
The Chiefs Radio Network is now anchored by Audacy's newly launched 96.5 The Fan (KFNZ-FM) and the entire crew will return for the fifth-consecutive season in 2024. "Voice of the Chiefs" Mitch Holthus returns for his 31st season as the club's play-by-play personality. Holthus has called a team-record 513 career regular and postseason games for the club, earning eight Kansas Sportscaster of the Year awards and one Missouri Sportscaster of the Year award. Joining Holthus in the booth for the fifth year is former Chiefs wide receiver and current Kansas City Ambassador Danan Hughes, who has been broadcasting football and baseball as part of the Big Ten Network since 2008, as well as Chiefs pregame and postgame shows on local television since 2014. Josh Klingler, a former Kansas City morning sports talk show personality and the sideline reporter for the University of Kansas for more than 18 years, enters his fifth season as the network's sideline reporter. Veteran sportscaster Art Hains will also return as host of 96.5 The Fan's pregame and postgame show coverage alongside Executive Producer Dan Israel. The club's first preseason game on Saturday, August 10 at Jacksonville will air on 106.5 The Wolf before 96.5 The Fan (KFNZ-FM) goes live on Thursday, August 15 and serves as the Home of the Chiefs for the remainder of the 2024 preseason, regular season and postseason.
Tico Sports will again produce a Spanish-language broadcast for all preseason, regular season and postseason Chiefs games in 2024. Oscar Monterroso enters his ninth season as executive producer and his first full season handling play-by-play duties after producing and calling Super Bowls LIV, LV, LVII and LVIII for Tico Sports. Hannah Bassham enters her ninth season with the crew and embarks on her first season as the broadcast's analyst after previously serving as the network's sideline reporter and halftime show host for eight years. Adan Manzano joins the broadcast in 2024 as the network's sideline reporter. Executive Director CiCi Rojas brings more than 20 years of corporate client and media engagement experience to the broadcast. Tico's Spanish-language broadcast can be heard on the Audacy app ("Tico Sports | Chiefs en Español") within Kansas City and KSSA "La Ke Buena" (105.9 FM and 1470 AM) in Garden City, Kansas, and Liberal, Kansas. All games are streamed on the Chiefs Mobile app (restrictions apply), the Tico Sports website (www.tico-sports.com/chiefsespanol) and NFL+ (membership required).
