"Tim's knowledge and experience as a facility operator in both the sports and entertainment industries will make him a key addition to our executive team," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. Hassett joins the Chiefs after two years as a Regional Vice President for AEG Facilities and General Manager of the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (2013-14). In Pittsburgh, he was responsible for the management of all the arena's business operations, the creation of new events and the development of new revenue opportunities for CONSOL Energy Center, which served as the home of the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins.
Prior to his tenure at the CONSOL Energy Center, Hassett served as the Vice President, Operations, at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City for nearly two years. Prior to that position, he spent seven years (2004-11) as Executive Vice President, Facilities, for The Madison Square Garden Company (Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall). He has also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Giants Stadium and Continental Airlines Arena, among other assignments over a seven-year period (1996-2003) at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in New Jersey.
Hassett began his career in sports and entertainment with the Southwest Athletic Conference in Dallas, Texas, in 1987. He joined the New York Yankees in 1988 as the Assistant Director of Stadium Operations and served as the Director of Stadium Operations at Yankee Stadium from 1990 to 1994.
Hassett is a 1985 graduate of Dartmouth College. He completed an M.S. in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts in 1988 and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1996.
Hassett resides in Lee's Summit with his wife, Lucy.
