It's the news that Kansas City Chiefs fans wanted to hear heading into this Sunday's AFC divisional round game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who earned the right to come to Arrowhead by beating the Miami Dolphins, 30-12, on Sunday in the wild card game.
"Everybody that was banged up is good to go now," Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters to begin his usual Monday afternoon press conference.
Reid went on to specifically mention running back Spencer Ware and linebacker Justin Houston, just to make sure there wasn't any confusion as to who he was talking about.
Houston has missed the past two games with swelling in his knee, but the added off time earned by the Chiefs as the AFC's No. 2 seed and the bye this past weekend seemed to have been a positive thing.
"[He'll] practice and we'll see how he does," Reid added of Houston.
It's important to note that Houston didn't play in the first meeting between these two teams in Week 4, as he was working his way back from offseason knee surgery.
Ware, who in a game-time decision was ruled out of the regular season finale against the San Diego Chargers with sore ribs, did play in the first meeting against the Steelers in Week 4.
Ware finished that game with 13 carries for 82 yards, which was good for a 6.3 yards-per-carry average—the second-best output of his season. Ware averaged 6.4 yards per carry in the season-opening win over the Chargers (11 for 70).
The Chiefs had a light practice Monday morning and will be back on the field for their usual practice week beginning on Wednesday.
