It's been a big season for Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback Alex Smith and rookie running back Kareem Hunt.
Smith was nominated as the FedEx Air Player of the Year on Wednesday while Hunt was nominated as the FedEx Ground Player of the Year.
But this isn't the first time a FedEx Air and Ground nomination has come the vet and rookie's way this season.
Smith has been nominated four times and been honored as the FedEx Air Player of the Week twice in Week 1 and Week 13.
Hunt has been nominated three times and been honored as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week also twice in Week 1 and Week 3.
And these nominations come with no surprise with the season Smith and Hunt have put together.
Smith had his best season of his 12-year NFL career—at least by the numbers.
He set new career bests with 4,042 passing yards and 26 touchdown passes.
Per PFF, Smith was also named the most accurate deep ball passer in 2017.
Hunt didn't shy away from earning any accolades his rookie season.
He took home the Offensive Rookie of the Month twice, earned his first Pro Bowl nomination, became the first player in NFL history with touchdowns of at least 50 yards in each of his first three games and also became the league's rushing leader—just to name a few.
Hunt finished the year with 1,327 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.
