The 2025 NFL Draft will be here before we know it, and as the league prepares to gather in Green Bay on April 24, the football-watching world is rife with mock drafts and projections as to how the first round will play out.
Here's a look at who some of the latest mock drafts from around the web have the Chiefs selecting with the No. 31 overall pick on April 24, and for reference, previous roundups can be found below:
CBS Sports (Pete Prisco - March 24): Ohio State OT Josh Simmons
In a continuation of what has been a popular pick for Kansas City lately, Pete Prisco from CBS Sports sent Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons to the Chiefs at No. 31 overall. Here's more from Prisco:
"This kid might have the most upside of any lineman in this draft. He is coming off a torn ACL, so they can be patient."
USA Today (March 24): Mississippi DT Walter Nolen
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz from USA Today decided to bolster the Chiefs' defensive line in his latest mock by sending Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen to Kansas City. Here's what Middlehurst-Schwartz had to say about the pick:
"Dropping Nolen in next to Chris Jones would ensure opponents will have their hands full with the Chiefs' interior line for some time."
Yahoo! Sports (March 24): Texas WR Matthew Golden
Nate Tice and Charles McDonald from Yahoo! Sports, who sent Minnesota offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery to Kansas City in each of their two previous mocks, changed course this time around and went with Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden. Here's what they wrote about the selection:
"Offensive line is very much in play here, and there are some interesting names the Chiefs could look at. They instead dip their pen back into the Longhorn ink and take another Texas wide receiver in Golden. He is a smooth athlete who can win against press. He would give Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense yet another weapon to open things up."
The New York Times (March 24): Ohio State OT Josh Simmons
Like many others lately, Ben Standig from the New York Times sent Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons to Kansas City in his latest mock. Here's more from Standig:
"Simmons had top-15 potential before a left knee injury cost him 10 games in 2024."
NFL.com (Chad Reuter - March 21): Alabama OG Tyler Booker
Chad Reuter from NFL.com has the Chiefs trading up to No. 27 overall in his latest mock for the right to select Alabama interior offensive lineman Tyler Booker. Here's more on the pick:
"K.C. sends first- and third-round selections to Baltimore for this pick and a fourth-rounder, adding Booker to replace Joe Thuney up front."
Pro Football Focus (Josh Liskiewitz - March 24): Tennessee EDGE James Pierce
Josh Liskiewitz from PFF has the Chiefs adding a pass-rusher in his latest mock by sending Tennessee's James Pierce to Kansas City. Here's what Liskiewitz wrote about the selection:
"Pearce is the kind of athlete with the production and disruption scores you don't let out of the first round. His twitchy movements show difference-making NFL traits that can be situational at worst and All-Pro at best."
FOX Sports (Rob Rang - March 21): Ohio State OT Josh Simmons
Rob Rang from FOX Sports has the Chiefs trading up to No. 24 overall in order to select Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons. Here's more from Rang:
"The Chiefs acted boldly in free agency to address their offensive line concerns, signing Jaylon Moore to a two-year, $30 million deal. They could show similar aggression on Day 1 of the draft, jumping ahead of the Texans to land Simmons — the most physically gifted left tackle in this class — who could fall further than he should due to his recovery from knee surgery."
