The organization recently wrapped up a contest called "Voice of the Kingdom," which gives fans a chance to perform the National Anthem at Arrowhead Stadium during a Chiefs game.
This year, Keaton Schlatter (19) of Coon Rapids, Iowa is the 2014 Voice of the Kingdom.
Schlatter will be performing at Arrowhead Stadium on December 28th during the Chiefs vs. Chargers game.
"I am a huge Chiefs fans, so this is a dream come true," Schlatter said. "I started singing when I was five years old. I am very passionate about singing…I love music because it can really inspire people and it's everywhere. I am so excited to sing. I've gone to so many games and have enjoyed the whole atmosphere; it's an indescribable feeling. Being able to sing in front of the players and the fans is going to be an amazing experience. That's probably the thing that I am most excited for, just being a part of the atmosphere and singing at Arrowhead Stadium in front of the best fans in the NFL."
Schlatter wanted to thank everyone who voted for him to be named the "Voice of the Kingdom" and also wanted to thank some family members who helped him along the way.
"I really want to thank my parents," Schlatter said. "My mother was the one who made the call to set up lessons and they have supported me my whole life. They always told me to never stop chasing my dreams. I also want to thank my grandparents Jerry and Karen Colbert for always coming to my performances and supporting me as well. Along with Jennifer Baumhover of Carroll, my aunt; she really took this voting thing to another level. Lastly, I want to thank the community of both Coon Rapids and Bayard. I've always loved living in this area because everyone is so supportive. It's really awesome to be from a small town and have the support of the whole community."
Congratulations Keaton!
