The Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead Events, the club's special events arm, are hosting the sixth-annual Arrowhead 5K at Arrowhead Stadium at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 2. The Arrowhead 5K was previously scheduled for Friday, June 29, but was postponed due to extreme heat.
Runners and walkers will navigate their way through the parking lots around Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums before the race route will take them inside Arrowhead to run through the concourse and Hall of Honor. For the third year in a row, event participants will finish on the 50-yard line, under the bright lights of Arrowhead.
Upon check-in, race participants will receive a 2018 Arrowhead 5K t-shirt with their race packet. When participants are finished, they will enjoy a post-race celebration on the field which will include appearances by Chiefs Cheerleaders and KC Wolf. The race will be timed for competitors, and the top overall and age group winners will receive Chiefs tickets for their performances.
Registration is still open at www.chiefs.com/arrowhead5k. Registration through Thursday, November 1 is $40 for the general public and $35 for Chiefs Season Ticket Members. If space allows, race day registration is $45 for all participants.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Cornerstones of Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the safety and health of children and families. It provides education, mental and behavioral health, foster care and adoption, youth and family support, and community trainings in Kansas, Missouri and beyond.
Celebrating its sixth year in 2018, the Arrowhead 5K run/walk is designed to give fans the opportunity to experience a run/walk event that offers something no other race event in Kansas City offers – the chance for runners to race inside Arrowhead Stadium and finish under the lights on the 50-yard line. Whether you run or walk, come in first or just run for fun, the Arrowhead 5K is designed for everyone to enjoy.
