Kansas City Chiefs Award Pedro Zamora the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award

The Kansas City Chiefs are pleased to announce Pedro Zamora, the Executive Director of the Hispanic Economic Development Corporation, as the recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. The Chiefs along with Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, will honor him at the team's October 2nd game against the Washington Redskins during a pregame ceremony on the field.

The NFL and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation have partnered for the seventh annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards during the 2017 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The awards recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market.

Zamora is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of leadership and management experience from both the corporate for-profit and not-for-profit worlds. He was appointed the Executive Director of the Hispanic Economic Development Corporation of Greater Kansas City (HEDC) on April 1, 2015. An enthusiastic entrepreneurial leader, he has established strengths in strategic planning, fundraising and financial management, product and program introduction, marketing, organizational transition management, and board development.

As part of the award, each recipient selects an organization of their choice that serves the local Hispanic community to receive a $2,000 donation. This year, Zamora has chosen the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Development Fund Scholarship Program to receive the donation.
