The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the third-annual Chiefs 5K on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 9 a.m. with a portion of the proceeds to benefit a local charity. The event allows more than 3,000 participants to race through the concourses and the Chiefs Hall of Honor presented by Time Warner Cable inside iconic Arrowhead Stadium. In a change from previous year's races, the run will conclude at The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex, where players practice and prepare throughout the week for games. Participants will receive a one-of-a-kind Chiefs 5K finisher's medal and a commemorative t-shirt.
Registration for the event can be accessed online at www.chiefs5k.com until the day of the event. Season Ticket Members had an exclusive opportunity to sign-up for the race before the general public and will receive a $5 discount on their registration up until race day. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit a local charity. Full registration details are as follows:
- Early-Bird Registration: $35 – Feb. 5 through Feb. 25
- Pre-Event Registration: $40 – Feb. 26 through May 22
- Day of Event: $45 – May 23
In its third year, the Chiefs 5K run/walk is the only event that gives fans the opportunity to race through Arrowhead Stadium. More than 7,000 people of all ages have participated in the two previous years.
