The Kansas City Chiefs will host a Social Media Day on Friday during the club's training camp practice on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. The club has also announced that it is changing its official Twitter and Instagram handles to @Chiefs from @KCChiefs.
Throughout the morning practice there will be a number of social challenges issued by the Chiefs official social media channels (@Chiefs on Twitter and Instagram and OfficialChiefs on Snapchat) for fans to partake in and post about to Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Prizes, such as signed draft hats from 2015 first-round pick Marcus Peters, preseason tickets and Chiefs "Decibel Up" social media t-shirts will be awarded for fans engaging with #ChiefsCamp social challenges. To redeem their prizes, fans must take their winning direct message to the team store at training camp.
In addition to the challenges, any fan content tagged with #ChiefsCamp may be selected and featured on www.chiefs.com or on the Chiefs official social media account. For fans that tag the Chiefs on Instagram and Twitter, and also send the team pictures on Snapchat, their images will be built into a photo gallery on www.chiefs.com.
Fans should look for Chiefs player cutouts around camp and take their most creative photos with the cutouts and share using #ChiefsCamp. Preseason game tickets and t-shirts will be awarded for some of the best photos.
To cap the day, Chiefs players will have access to the Twitter Mirror to take photos with fans post-practice to share on both the Chiefs Twitter and their own Twitter accounts. If fans don't already follow their favorite Chiefs players on social media, they are encouraged to do so as select players who are active on social media will have "Decibel Up" social media t-shirts to give away through their own social media channels following Social Media Day at training camp.
