The founder of the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Hunt, was notoriously known for, among many other things, the attention he paid to the details.
He was meticulous in making sure that even the smallest of tasks were done the right way, especially every Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Over the last nine months, Lamar's son and the current Chiefs chairman and CEO, Clark Hunt, spearheaded an effort to capture some of the spirit his father instilled in him by redesigning both the Founder's Club and press box areas of Arrowhead Stadium.
"When we have an opportunity to honor tradition, which is one of the four mission statement pillars, and share the tradition and history of this franchise with our fans at Arrowhead, that's the basis for all the visual graphic design," Bill Chapin, the Chiefs senior vice president of business operations, said. "We want to share that with our fans because they're a part of it.
"In specific to the two areas that we have visual and graphic representation, the Founder's Club, it's very appropriate that we continue to honor tradition by honoring the founder of the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Hunt, for which the Founder's Club is named."
The Founder's Club walls will now feature new historic imagery of Lamar, along with quotes about him from football influencers over the past five decades.
In the press box, quote walls featuring Hank Stram and Joe Delaney line the entranceway, and historic newspaper and magazine clippings have been added to the common area.
The Chiefs creative service and brand manager, Jordan Giesler, who designed the new artwork, described the project as an "honor."
"As a designer, it's always a blessing to get to do something like this," Giesler said. "Being from Kansas City, I never thought I'd be able to work on a project like this, let alone work for the Chiefs and do what I do, so you really take it as an honor to get the ability to create these moments for other people.
"While you have all these great feelings about being able to work on this project, at the end of the day, what gets you amped up is you get to make these moments for other people and inspire others."
