Cairo Santos and De'Anthony Thomas visited the campus of Operation Breakthrough this past Tuesday to spread holiday cheer—the players gave out cookies and hot chocolate, read a holiday story and sang Christmas songs with the children in attendance.

"It's awesome," Santos said, recapping the day. "It's great to feel like a kid again and to spend the day with the kids here. I did this last year and I had such a great time coming and reading a story to them. It's good to get this overwhelming love from them; they just want to give you a hug and climb on you.

"It's special to get our minds off of work at the end of the year here – it's Christmas, it's about sharing love with the community."

According to its website, Operation Breakthrough is one of the largest single-site early and social services facility in the state of Missouri, serving 400 children daily from the urban core.

The fact that its headquarters are so close to Arrowhead Stadium allows the Chiefs to stay active.

The Kansas City Chiefs Community Care Team, players, and Ambassadors visited with children at Operation Breakthrough to spread some holiday cheer.

On this particular visit, Thomas especially enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with kindergartners.

"I think that age group is a very important age," he explained, "introducing them to different songs and different ways to get ready for elementary school and things like that. I think it's great to have that passion to want to come, help out and give back.

"I'm pretty sure those kids will remember that forever."
