There's no place like home, or at least within the same state.
The Kansas City Chiefs announced Wednesday that they signed free agent linebacker Chad Kilgore.
Kilgore (6-1, 230) started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2012, before being released near the start of the season.
The Orrick, Missouri native played in 57 games at Northwest Missouri State, recording 392 tackles (165 solo), seven sacks, five INTs, 12 passes defensed and three forced fumbles. He prepped at Excelsior Springs High School, where he earned all-state accolades as a senior.
Chad's hometown of Orrick is just over 30 miles from his new workplace, One Arrowhead Drive and Arrowhead Stadium, where he's played in the past.
During college, Kilgore played in the fall classic known as "The Clash of Champions," which paired perennial NCAA Division II powerhouses Pittsburg State and NW Missouri State in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association regular season contest.
