Chiefs Remain One of NFL's "Most Talented Teams," One Expert Says

Legendary personnel man and NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt ranked the league’s most talented teams

According to Gil Brandt, who spent three decades as the Vice President of Player Personnel for the Dallas Cowboys (1960-89), and whose scouting systems are considered standard operating procedure in today's NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs are one of the league's most talented teams.

It's high praise for someone with the resume of Brandt, who recently wrote up an article for NFL.com on his "10 most talented teams."

The Chiefs come in at No. 8 on the list.

Here's a brief part of what Brandt wrote about the Chiefs, via NFL.com:

"The Chiefs are very deep on both sides of the ball. Safety Eric Berry, corner Marcus Peters and pass rusher Justin Houston are special defensive players, while Chris Jones and Dee Ford are young studs. Tyreek Hill can score through the air, as a runner or returning punts and kicks. Tight end Travis Kelce is one of the toughest outs in the business -- when the Chiefs need a first down, he's their man..."

It shouldn't be a surprise that the Chiefs made this list.

This ranking only echoes the sentiment of many experts around the league who consistently cite the Chiefs' success under coach Andy Reid, who has led the Chiefs to a 43-21 record in the regular season over his four years.

The Chiefs have also made three trips to the playoffs in Reid's four years.

Reid recently said he's embracing the high expectations for the Chiefs this year, and there's every reason to feel good about what the Chiefs could accomplish this season.

They return the majority of their starters on both sides of the ball. While talent alone won't get the Chiefs where they want to go, there's little doubting the job general manager Dorsey and his staff have done in building a deep and talented roster.
