The Kansas City Chiefs have announced a second Chiefs Fit location to open in the historic Jack Henry building on the Country Club Plaza. The premier flagship facility, located at 612 W. 47th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, is scheduled to open at the start of 2022.
Like the first Chiefs Fit location opening at Regency Park Shopping Center in Overland Park, Kansas, in the coming weeks, fitness enthusiasts will have access to more than 32,000 square feet of state-of-the-art fitness and recovery equipment at Chiefs Fit – Plaza. The well-appointed, amenity-filled, multi-level facility will feature a strength area with Chiefs-branded free weights and machines, as well as a full floor of cardio equipment. The facility will also offer cryotherapy treatment, hydromassage machines, Normatec recovery systems, spray-tan booths, a sauna and full-amenity locker rooms. Group fitness classes and personal training services will also be available at the Plaza location, along with a fuel bar and a retail shop with Chiefs Fit-branded apparel.
Chiefs Fit – Plaza will have unique rooftop terrace features on top of the Jack Henry building, with a turf training area and a member lounge area, adding an additional 7,500 square feet of premium space to the facility. The building's parking garage will include dedicated parking for gym members.
"We are weeks away from opening Chiefs Fit – Metcalf and we've seen incredible interest and buzz about that facility over the past few months," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. "Having the ability to announce a second location this quickly, and in this historic and vibrant part of the city, will provide more access and more amenities for those looking for unique fitness options on both sides of the state line. We want to thank Mark Mastrov and the M6 Football team, as well as the group of developers and real estate professionals who are helping us promote health and wellness to our fans and the community."
The community-wide health, wellness and fitness project is the second joint effort between the Chiefs and Mark Mastrov, founder and chairman of M6 Football. Mastrov is the founder and former chairman of 24 Hour Fitness, which he sold in 2014. He, along with the M6 Football team, have successfully launched multiple gyms in partnership with NFL franchises, including ventures with the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Bears, the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans.
"We were thrilled to partner with the Chiefs to develop the first Chiefs Fit concept which will open in a few short weeks and we are looking forward to bringing this second facility to life at the start of next year," said Mastrov. "Having a second Chiefs Fit location in the Kansas City area will continue to enhance people's lives through health and fitness year-round."
Membership and enrollment information for Chiefs Fit – Plaza will be announced in the coming months. There will be reciprocal membership offers between both Chiefs Fit facilities for those interested in taking advantage of amenities at both the Plaza and Metcalf locations.
