Nick Cassetta returns for his second season with the Chiefs as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2024. Cassetta joined the club in 2023 after a season at Rice University where he assisted the football strength program as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.
As part of the staff in 2023, he helped prepare the Chiefs for a long season resulting in the team's eighth consecutive AFC West title, sixth-straight AFC Championship game appearance and third Super Bowl title in five seasons (LIV, LVII and LVIII) giving them back-to-back Super Bowl Championships (LVII, LVIII).
While at Rice University (2022), Cassetta coordinated all aspects of the nutrition program as well as assisted with the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning plan for the team. He also managed all of the sports science technology including SPT GPS, Nordbord and Force Plates.
Cassetta spent three seasons (2019-21) at New Mexico State as the director of Olympic sports and exercise prescription/nutrition manager. In this role, Cassetta acted as the assistant director of the design and implementation of the football strength and conditioning program, overseeing the development of the offensive and defensive lines, quarterbacks, specialists and redshirts. Cassetta was the bridge between the sports medicine and sports performance staffs, working closely with the athletic training staff while overseeing the Olympic strength and conditioning program. Cassetta also oversaw the baseball and women's track and field programs helping the women's team earn its first ever Indoor Conference Championship in 2020. Cassetta furthered his experience with nutrition, overseeing all aspects of the nutrition program of NMSU.
In 2018, he spent time at his alma mater, Ohio University, as a graduate assistant for the strength and conditioning department. While at Ohio University, Cassetta assisted in all aspects of the football strength and conditioning program and was responsible for the design and supervision of the training programs for a variety of the school's sports including men's and women's golf and women's swimming and diving.
Prior to his arrival at Ohio University, he spent time at UCLA as an intern (2016) and as a graduate assistant (2017). As a graduate assistant, Cassetta was responsible for the implementation of the developmental lifting group and worked alongside the sports medicine staff to oversee the progression of injured student-athletes. Cassetta began his coaching career in 2016 with a short stint at the University of Buffalo as an intern of the strength and conditioning staff, working directly with the football team.
Cassetta earned his bachelors in exercise science from Monclair State in 2015 and went on to get his masters in coaching education from Ohio University in 2019 while serving as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning.
