Nybeck grew up in rural Iowa, surrounded by thick woodlands and tranquil rivers. Immersion in the natural environment was an enchanting experience for the artist. These intense natural moments helped Nybeck quiet her mind, and the resulting stillness allowed new thoughts and ideas to form.
Nybeck draws upon these contemplative natural experiences when conceiving her sculptures. Many of her pieces explore a single natural element. Unfettered is inspired by the ever-changing movement and motion of water.
Nybeck resides in Kansas City.
