NEW FACES IN THE STARTING LINEUP: T Mitchell Schwartz logged his first start at RT in a Chiefs uniform, and rookie OL Parker Ehinger started in his first NFL game at LG.

SMITH STARTS STRONG: QB Alex Smith played just the first offensive possession and led the offense into the end zone. Smith recorded a four-play, 49-yard drive capped by a one-yard touchdown run by RB Spencer Ware. Smith went 3 of 4 for 36 yards on the drive.

SCORING ON THE FIRST POSSESSION IN FIRST PRESEASON GAME: The Chiefs offense marched down the field to score on the first offensive possession in the first preseason game of 2016, marking the first time this has happened since RB Jamaal Charles ran in a one-yard touchdown on the first offensive possession at New Orleans on Aug. 9, 2013.

PETERS INTERCEPTS WILSON: CB Marcus Peters intercepted Seahawks QB Russell Wilson at the Seattle 1-yard line. Last season Peters tied the league-lead with eight interceptions on the season, earning him Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Peters added one solo tackle and one pass defensed on the day.

FOLES LOGS FIRST ACTION WITH CHIEFS: QB Nick Foles logged his first action with the Chiefs being the second quarterback to enter the game and led the offense in two offensive possessions, recording four completions on eight attempts for 37 yards.

BRAY SEES FIRST GAME ACTION SINCE 2014: Bray saw his first NFL action since the 2014 preseason, completing three passes on nine attempts for 48-yards. Bray was placed on IR prior to the start of training camp in 2015.

MURRAY SEES ACTION: QB Aaron Murray recorded three completions on his six attempts for 52 yards. Murray connected with WR Da'Ron Brown on a 25-yard pass, marking the longest Chiefs completion of the day.

HOGAN LOGS FIRST NFL ACTION: Rookie QB Kevin Hogan recorded two completions on six attempts for 21 yards.

SEVERAL FACES IN THE PASSING GAME: The passing game was strong in today's contest with all five of the Chiefs quarterbacks recording a completion of at least 15 yards. They connected with 10 receivers on the day and completed a combined 194 yards passing.

SANTOS RECORDS CAREER-LONG KICK: K Cairo Santos converted 28-, 49- and 58-yard field goals and one PAT in today's contest for 10 points. His 58-yard FG would have tied a franchise-long if it occurred in the regular season and is five yards longer than his previous career long of 53 yards, recorded twice – at Baltimore (12/20/15) and vs. St. Louis (10/26/14).

STRONG RUNNING GAME: The Chiefs stable of running backs combined to average 4.9 yards per carry on a total of 27 rushes for 131 yards in the contest. RB Charcandrick West led the group recording 8.8 yards per carry (11 rushes for 42 yards).

PUNTING GAME STRONG: P Dustin Colquitt recorded five punts for 261 yards (52.2 net; 45.6 avg.) with two punts landing inside the 20 and a long of 69 yards.

BACK-TO-BACK SACKS: Seattle QB Trevone Boykin was sacked on back-to-back plays by LB Dadi Nicolas and DL David King. Nicolas dropped Boykin for a loss of one in his first action on an NFL field, and King sacked Boykin for a loss of six yards. The two sacks were the only recorded in the game. Â

MARCH RETURNS TO THE FIELD: LB Justin March saw his first NFL action since last preseason after being placed on IR before the start of the 2015 regular season. March tackled Seattle RB George Farmer on 4th-and-1, forcing a turnover on downs. He finished the game with two solo tackles.

NELSON LEADS TEAM IN TACKLES: CB Steven Nelson recorded a team-high five tackles on the day.
