Chiefs vs. Bills: Postgame Facts and Stats
Postgame facts and stats from the Chiefs win over the Bills in Week 12

EXTENDING THE STREAK: Today's win gives QB Alex Smith three separate streaks of five or more consecutive wins as a starter in his Chiefs career, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Len Dawson as the only two quarterbacks with multiple such streaks in their Chiefs careers, and trailing Dawson's franchise record of four streaks of five or more wins as a starter (1966-67, 1968, 1968-69, 1971). Head Coach Andy Reid now moves into sole possession of second place in franchise history for most streaks of five or more consecutive wins. Reid previously won nine-straight games to open the 2013 season and won five-straight games in the 2014 season. Only Pro Football Hank Stram (six) has more streaks of five or more consecutive wins than Reid. Marty Schottenheimer is the only other Chiefs coach besides Stram and Reid to have more than one such streak. With Sunday's victory, the Chiefs push their active win streak to five consecutive games. In franchise history, the club has had a streak of five or more wins 13 different times, the most recent coming in the form of a five-game win streak in the 2014 season. A five or more game win streak has only happened three other times since 2000 (2003, 2013, 2014).

SMITH'S STREAK MARKS FRANCHISE BEST: QB Alex Smith finished the game completing 19 of his 30 passes for 255 yards with two TDs, good for a 112.5 QB rating. Smith extended his streak to 283 consecutive passes without throwing an interception, the longest such streak by a QB in franchise history and fourth-longest streak in NFL history. Smith has thrown nine TDs in that stretch. His streak is the longest active streak in the NFL this season. Today marked Smith's fourth 100.0+ passer rating game of the season and the 24th time in his career he has logged a 100.0 or better rating as a starter in the regular season with 20 or more pass attempts. He is 4-0 this season and 23-1 for his career in such contests.

GAMES WITHOUT AN INTERCEPTION: The Chiefs have not thrown an interception in eight straight games, tying for the longest stretch of games without throwing an interception in franchise history. The team had two other eight-game streaks with no interceptions, the last time spanning the 1997 and 1998 seasons. Of the four longest streaks of consecutive games without an interception in franchise history, QB Alex Smith has been a contributor in two.

NO TURNOVERS: The Chiefs offense has not turned the ball over in the current five-game win- streak, the longest stretch in franchise history. Only two other times in NFL history (since 1933 when turnovers started being tracked) has a team gone five-consecutive games without a turnover in a single season. The 2015 Chiefs join the 2011 San Francisco 49ers (five games) and the 2010 New England Patriots (seven games) as the only three teams to accomplish the feat. Chiefs QB Alex Smith was leading San Francisco's offense in 2011 when the 49ers went 4-1 over those five contests.

TURNOVER DIFFERENTIAL: The Chiefs forced two fumbles in today's game, extending their turnover differential to +12. Entering today's game, the Chiefs ranked tied for third with a plus-10 turnover differential, trailing the Carolina Panthers (+16) and the New York Giants (+13).

SECOND HALF DEFENSE: The Bills had just 119 total yards of offense in the second half, while WR Sammy Watkins did not catch a pass in the second half of the game. He finished the game with 158 yards on six catches, all coming in the first two quarters of play.

POE & HOWARD COMBINE TO FORCE BILLS FIRST TURNOVER: DT Dontari Poe forced a fumble by RB LeSean McCoy, which is the first forced fumble in Poe's career. DL Jaye Howard secured the fumble recovery, giving him his second fumble recovery this season. His first was vs. Pittsburgh (10/25) at Arrowhead Stadium. Howard added two solo tackles on the day.

POE RECOVERS FUMBLE: In the third quarter, Poe found himself on the other end of a fumble situation as he secured a fumble forced by LB Tamba Hali. This marks his first-career fumble recovery. Poe added two solo tackles on the day.

WARE RUNS IN CHIEFS FIRST TD: FB/RB Spencer Ware finished the day with a career-high 19 carries for a career-high 114 yards, as well as his first career 100-plus yard rushing performance. Ware scored the Chiefs first TD of the day on a three-yard rush, giving him four touchdowns this season to tie RB Jamaal Charles and TE Travis Kelce for the team lead.

MULTIPLE 100-YARD RUSHERS: Ware is the third player for the Chiefs to rush for 100 or more yards this season. RB Charcandrick West rushed for 110 yards vs. Pittsburgh (10/25) and RB Jamaal Charles had 125 vs. Denver (9/17). All three running back's 100+ yard games came at home. The last time the Chiefs accomplished this feat was in 2004 when Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson and Derrick Blaylock each recorded at least one 100-yard rushing game.

MACLIN SCORES ON 41-YARD RECEPTION: WR Jeremy Maclin caught a 41-yard pass from QB Alex Smith in the second quarter. Maclin finished the day with nine catches for a 160 yards and one TD. Today marks Maclin's 17th career game with 100 or more receiving yards and his third with the Chiefs. His 160 yards are the third-best total in his career and highest since joining the Chiefs.

KELCE HAULS IN TD PASS TO OPEN SECOND HALF: TE Travis Kelce hauled in a 15-yard TD pass from QB Alex Smith on the opening drive of the second half, giving the Chiefs a 21-16 lead. The TD marks Kelce's ninth career score and fourth of the season, which leads all Chiefs receivers in 2015. Kelce finished the day with four catches for 69 yards and one TD.

HALI CONTINUES MOVING UP THE TOP 50 OF ALL TIME: LB Tamba Hali had a sack-strip of QB Tyrod Taylor for a loss of eight yards. Hali now owns 86.0 career sacks to rank tied for 47th in NFL history (T-47th with LB Willie McGinest). Among active players, Hali ranks 10th in total sacks. Hali needs just one sack to pass DE Neil Smith for second in Chiefs history for most sacks in a career. This marks his second forced fumble this season and the 32nd of his career, which ranks second in Chiefs history.

ZOMBO STOPS TWO POINT CONVERSION: LB Frank Zombo sacked QB Tyrod Taylor on a 2- point conversion attempt in the third quarter.

DAVIS SOLID IN RETURN GAME: RB Knile Davis had four kickoff returns for 106 yards. He ties his season-high with four returns and sets a season-high with 106 yards.

DJ CONTINUES TO LEAD DEFENSE: LB Derrick Johnson had nine tackles (seven solo) to tie LB Josh Mauga for the team lead today. This is the seventh game this season Johnson has led or tied a teammate for the team lead in tackles. He now has a Chiefs all-time record 1,053 tackles in his career.
