The Kansas City Chiefs won their third game in a row on Saturday, defeating the Seattle Seahawks on Christmas Eve to earn their 12th overall victory on the season. The win meant that Kansas City kept pace with Buffalo for the top seed in the AFC while also preserving the Chiefs' high standing in the various NFL "power rankings" from around the web.
In fact, the Chiefs checked in at No. 1 in The Athletic’s rankings this week following another MVP-caliber performance by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Here's a portion of what The Athletic's Bo Wulf had to say about the Chiefs:
"…Kansas City has the best offense in the league by almost any measure — and has the league's best quarterback."
The folks at The Ringer, meanwhile, ranked the Chiefs at No. 3 this week behind only Philadelphia and Buffalo. Here's a portion of their analysis, which also centered around Mahomes' tremendous campaign.
"Mahomes is in a tier by himself in terms of quarterback play this season. No one is doing it better than him right now, and the Chiefs are juggernauts because of it."
