The Kansas City Chiefs tallied their fifth victory in a row on Sunday night with a dominant win over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, and as the Chiefs continue to fire on all cylinders at seemingly the perfect time with the postseason approaching, the national pundits are once again taking notice.
Kansas City checked in at No. 4 in NFL.com's power rankings this week, trailing the Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers as analyst Dan Hanzus seems impressed with the Chiefs' body of work lately:
"Kansas City looks like a team ready to win multiple games in January."
The folks at ESPN also slotted the Chiefs at No. 4 in their rankings behind the Ravens, Saints and 49ers while The Washington Post moved Kansas City up to No. 3 in their rankings behind just Baltimore and New Orleans. Here's what writer Mark Maske had to say about the Chiefs:
"The defense is playing very well lately. Patrick Mahomes is doing Patrick Mahomes things. The Chiefs are 7-1 on the road. This will be a very dangerous team during the AFC playoffs."
The Chiefs are No. 2 in Bleacher Report’s rankings, trailing only Baltimore, as the analysts at B/R also cited Kansas City's defense as a reason to like this team's chances in the postseason.
"…The Chiefs have allowed a league-low 9.6 points per game since Week 11. Only the Patriots scored 10 or more against them this month. A good defense to go with the league's most explosive offense? Does anyone else smell an upcoming Super Bowl run?"
Here's where the Chiefs landed in some other power rankings from around the web:
