Chris Jones Named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week

This marks Jones’ third career “Player of the Week” award

The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 this season due in large part to their defense, which held the Los Angeles Chargers to just 10 points last week as Kansas City completed a comeback victory.

The man right in the middle of that terrific performance was defensive lineman Chris Jones, and on Wednesday, the NFL recognized the veteran pass-rusher for his efforts with "AFC Defensive Player of the Week" honors.

This marks the third-career "Player of the Week" award for Jones, who recorded six pressures, three quarterback hits and two sacks on Sunday against Los Angeles. Both of Jones' sacks took place on third down, and he also tallied a pressure on fourth down late in the game that forced an incompletion.

The 30-year-old Jones is the anchor of a Chiefs' defense that has now held the opposition under 28 total points in a whopping 25 straight games, and with a prime-time matchup against the New Orleans Saints on deck, Jones and the rest of Kansas City's defense will aim to turn in another stellar performance on Monday Night Football.
