Chiefs vs. Bengals: Mini-Bye Betting Trends After Thursday Games

Ten days after beating the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in Week 7 last season, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers (and covered as a 5.5-point home favorite) in a Week 8 Sunday game.

They went 2-0 against the spread last year in mini-bye games that directly followed Thursday Night Football, and have covered in three of their four last opportunities dating back to the 2022 season.

The Chiefs' two ATS wins were among 22 total ATS wins for all NFL teams in 36 total games last year. It was the fifth straight profitable season for this trend, which has produced an ROI of approximately 11% since 2019 and 8% since 2015.

  • 2022: 7%
  • 2021: 14%
