Chiefs Releasing First All-Spanish Language Long-Form Content with 'Viva Chiefs Kingdom' Docuseries

Two-Part Series Follows Chiefs Fans in Mexico During the Club's Super Bowl LVIII Season and Debuts on Chiefs YouTube Saturday Night.

As part of the club's ongoing efforts to grow the Chiefs brand and the game of football internationally, the team has announced that "Viva Chiefs Kingdom," a two-part docuseries following Chiefs fans in Mexico throughout the 2023 NFL season and the club's journey to Super Bowl LVIII, will make its streaming debut on the Official Chiefs YouTube Channel at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, July 27. The second episode of the docuseries will air at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 3.

The project marks the club's first all-Spanish language long-form content and is the first long-form international "fans first" content focusing on the passion and fandom of Chiefs Kingdom globally. Produced in conjunction with Força Studio and Samba Digital, the documentary delves into the deep connection between the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans in Mexico, covering the early struggles of finding Chiefs merchandise to the elation of their beloved team winning Super Bowl LVIII.

"We are excited to debut 'Viva Chiefs Kingdom' to a global audience on our YouTube channel this weekend and feature many of our great fans from Mexico as part of the show," Chiefs EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Lara Krug said. "As our international brand and social footprint continue to grow in Mexico and beyond, special projects and storytelling opportunities like this allow us to pay tribute to the passion and dedication of our supporters from all corners of Chiefs Kingdom."

As part of the team's multi-year agreement with Fox Sports Mexico, the docuseries premiered exclusively on the airwaves of Fox Sports Mexico in the market on Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, July 20. The Chiefs and Fox Sports Mexico also co-hosted an in-person premiere at Cinépolis in Mexico City on Tuesday, July 9.

The first-of-its-kind documentary for the team aligns with the club's strategic shift to focus on all Spanish-speaking communities around the world and at home. The move was highlighted by converting the organization's original Mexico-based social accounts into Spanish-language accounts on Instagram (@chiefsespanol) and TikTok (@chiefsespanol). The team has more followers and higher engagement than all other NFL clubs with Spanish-language or Mexico-specific accounts.

The Chiefs currently own International Home Marketing Area rights through the NFL's Global Markets Program in Mexico, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The club has played three regular season NFL games internationally, playing in London in 2015, Mexico City in 2019 and Frankfurt in 2023, becoming the first club in NFL history to win regular season games in four different countries. The club has also appeared in four American Bowl preseason games, including a 1996 matchup in Monterrey, Mexico.
