Chiefs Re-Sign LB Nick Bolton

Bolton has appeared in 57 games over the last four seasons

The Kansas City Chiefs retained another member of the 2021 draft class on Friday by re-signing linebacker Nick Bolton, who originally joined the Chiefs as a second-round pick (No. 58 overall) four years ago.

Bolton has appeared in 57 games (with 53 starts) during that time, often serving as the "green dot," which means he calls the defense on the field. His leadership has been integral to a unit that leads the NFL in scoring defense since 2023 (and ranks third in the league since 2022).

For example, cornerback Trent McDuffie revealed last year that Bolton was responsible for the decision to send McDuffie on a quarterback blitz late in Super Bowl LVIII. McDuffie blew up the play, and in retrospect, the decision may have saved the game.

The Chiefs have won four AFC West titles, three AFC titles and two Super Bowl championships since Bolton arrived in 2021, and now re-signed, he'll continue to serve as the quarterback of one of the league's best defenses.
