Chiefs Re-Sign DT Tershawn Wharton and LS James Winchester

The Chiefs re-signed two more players on Friday

The Kansas City Chiefs continued to retain players on Friday with the re-signings of defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton and longsnapper James Winchester.

Wharton returns for his fifth season in Kansas City after recording 17 pressures, five quarterback hits and  two sacks in 17 games last year. He was also a significant contributor during the Chiefs' playoff run, logging at least 25 defensive snaps in each of Kansas City's four postseason games.

Winchester, meanwhile, is back for a 10th season with the Chiefs and remains the second-longest tenured member of the team behind only tight end Travis Kelce. Winchester has appeared in 147 regular-season contests and 22 playoff games during that time. In fact, Winchester and Kelce are tied for the most postseason game appearances by any player in franchise history.

Both Winchester and Wharton join defensive tackle Chris Jones, linebacker Drue Tranquill, safety Deon Bush and defensive tackle Mike Pennel as players who have officially re-signed with the Chiefs in recent days.
