The Kansas City Chiefs have made plenty of history lately, and as the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions aim to defend their title yet again in 2024, the franchise's business operation has found numerous ways to share this incredible journey with the rest of the world.
In fact, the Chiefs engaged in a week-long brand tour just last month that began at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France before continuing to Frankfurt, Germany. In Frankfurt, Chiefs' safety Justin Reid opened the "ChampionsHaus," an interactive exhibit dedicated to Chiefs football.
The tour included Reid and Chief Marketing Officer Lara Krug, who each joined panels in partnership with MediaLink, RTL and Stagwell's Sport Beach as part of the festivities in Cannes. Krug took part in additional panels with Tubi, The Female Quotient and Infillion as well while Kim Hobbs, the Chiefs' Vice President of Partnership Strategy & Development, sat on panels with RTL and Virtue Villa.
The visit to Cannes also served as an opportunity to premiere a new documentary entitled "Forging Greatness: Making the Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII Ring" exclusively with RTL – a German-language television channel – before releasing it globally on YouTube.
Later in the trip, Reid participated in an on-stage interview with Nadine Nurasyid – an American Football Coach for the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football – at the "ChampionsHaus" in Frankfurt before taking photos with every fan in attendance.
The "ChampionsHaus," which took place over two days at the Museum of Modern Electronic Music in Frankfurt, was visited by more than 400 fans and provided a variety of unique opportunities, including the chance to take a photo with the Lombardi Trophy and check out a replica locker room. The interactive fan experience will travel throughout Germany during the 2024 season.
Reid also took part in a meet and greet with active military members and their families during the event in partnership with the USO, continuing the Chiefs' commitment to honoring our Armed Forces both at home and abroad.
These efforts came on the heels of the Chiefs' victory over the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt last November, which was preceded by a variety of events and festivities throughout Germany, from a fan event in downtown Frankfurt to visiting nearby Ramstein Air Base.
Additionally, the Chiefs maintain social handles specifically dedicated to both Spanish and German speaking fans as Kansas City aims to bring the excitement of professional football to individuals around the globe in their respective language.
With that goal in mind, the Chiefs debuted a documentary series on July 27 – "Viva Chiefs Kingdom" – that followed 12 fans from five cities in Mexico throughout the 2023-24 postseason. The series sought to capture the emotional journey of what it means to be a fan as the Chiefs marched to their second-straight championship.
The project took place in partnership with Samba Digital, which is the Chiefs' digital and social agency in Mexico. The series follows fans from various walks of life, including podcasters, the leader of a popular Chiefs Facebook group and a woman who spread her passion for the Chiefs to her family and friends.
Each fan had a different story to tell, but they're all united in their love for the Chiefs. A two-part series, the first episode is available by clicking here. The second part of the series is set to come out globally on August 3.
The back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions are on the doorstep of a run unlike any other in league history, and due to these efforts and numerous others, fans all over the world have a chance to be a part of it.
