The Kansas City Chiefs and local streetwear brand MADE MOBB have joined forces to produce a limited-edition run of apparel that is being released in conjunction with the start of the team's playoff push this weekend.
Made possible through the NFL's local merchandise collaboration initiative intended to diversify teams' product assortment with highly localized offerings, MADE MOBB has designed a graphic t-shirt and hoodie that takes Chiefs style from the stadium to the streets. Only 1,000 t-shirts and 1,000 hoodies have been produced and the line is expected to sell out quickly.
"We are incredibly thrilled to have the opportunity for an official collaboration with the Chiefs. Being a local streetwear brand in Kansas City for the last nine years, The MOBB has dreamt about this moment. For the collaboration, we worked with the Chiefs on a remix of official merchandise, taking the gear from the stadium to the streets," MADE MOBB said.
"As one of Kansas City's leading streetwear brands, MADE MOBB was the perfect fit to help us bring this unique merchandise offering to life," Chiefs Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Lara Krug said. "The streetwear game is a traditionally underrepresented market for team apparel due to licensing considerations but having the opportunity to create something so different and unique is going to appeal to many of our fans. We are excited to see this merch fly off the shelves as we start our playoff run."
This limited run will go on-sale at a pop-up event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 at MADE MOBB (221 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108) in the Crossroads Arts District.
In addition to the opportunity to purchase CHIEFS X MADE MOBB apparel, the event will feature appearances from KC Wolf as well as Kansas City Ambassadors and the Chiefs Rumble. The event will also serve as the official launch of the Deci-Booth, a custom gamified experience that gives fans the chance to win prizes and create social media videos by showing how loud they can get. The exclusive t-shirts and hoodies will also be available online at www.mademobb.com , shop.chiefs.com and nflshop.com beginning at 9 a.m. CT Saturday, Jan. 15.
