There's a new podcast out there made just for Chiefs Kingdom called "In the Trenches" – a show dedicated to all things Kansas City Chiefs through a pair of perspectives unlike any other – and just in case you missed it, the third episode dropped this week.
"In the Trenches" – featuring Chiefs Reporter BJ Kissel and six-year NFL veteran Nick Leckey – is the flagship show of the newly-created Chiefs Official Podcast Network, which launched last month and will include multiple shows in the future.
The duo already broke down quite a bit through the show's first two episodes – from Kissel's observations from Organized Team Activities (OTAs) to Leckey's insight into what it's like to be a rookie trying to earn a spot on the team.
The third episode – which went live on Wednesday – continued to focus on OTAs, including a wide receiver who has impressed in practice and a young offensive lineman making some solid progress.
And while OTAs are far from the grind of an actual football practice, Leckey explained why these offseason workouts matter from his own personal experience.
"It will set you up for camp," Leckey said. "You can make an impression for the coaches right now about how you're going to look – either in a good way or a bad way."
There was all of that and plenty more over 44 straight minutes of Chiefs' football talk.
