Children and Families in Crisis

City Year
City Year works to celebrate students throughout the year, providing children and young adults with safe and engaging learning environments. Throughout the partnership between City Year and the Chiefs, over $1 million has been donated to improve the education of students in the Kansas City area.

Education
The Chiefs and Hunt Family Foundation are committed to creating education opportunities and supporting students in Kansas City. Collaborating with and donating to organizations like City Year, Kansas City Public Schools, Operation Breakthrough and EarlystART has helped foster academic excellence and enhance student health, with a focus on schools in the surrounding Kansas City area.

Hunger Relief
The Chiefs host the largest food drive in the NFL alongside Harvesters, as well as participate in Souper Bowl of Caring and food redistribution through Pete's Garden. The Chiefs have provided 2.6 million meals to families across Kansas City since its inception and aims to provide assistance to communities throughout the year in need of food assistance.

Family and Community Services
The Chiefs and Hunt Family Foundation are passionate about supporting the Kansas City community and local families. Working with incredible organizations like Hope Center KC, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army and more has made a difference by providing holiday gifts for families, supporting senior citizens, performing food and coat drives, setting students up for success and so much more.
Children's Health and Wellness

Joe Delaney Learn to Swim Program presented by GEHA
In 1983, Chiefs Legend Joe Delaney laid down his life trying to rescue three drowning children. To honor his sacrifice, the Hunt Family Foundation and the Chiefs started this program that provides children swim lessons, transportation to facilities, and swim equipment.

Chiefs All-Abilities Camp
The Chiefs host a recreational football camp to teach children with physical and mental disabilities about fitness, teamwork, and football. Special Olympics of Kansas, Special Olympics of Missouri, and KC Challengers collaborate to continually improve football skills for children and young adults.

Toys for Tots
Each holiday season, the Chiefs partner with Toys for Tots donate gifts to children and families in the Kansas City area that need extra assistance during the holidays, with over 43,000 toys donated last year. Toys for Tots, a program run by the United States Marine Corps, has distributed gifts to over 281 million children and families in low-income communities.
Civic Responsibility

Voter Registration
The Kansas City Chiefs encourage eligible residents in Kansas and Missouri to register to vote at all elections, local or national. A league-wide effort to increase the number of registered voters, the NFL and Chiefs aim to create more opportunities in residents in the Kansas City area to vote for any upcoming elections.

Legacy of the Kansas City Chiefs & the NFL

Chiefs Charity Game- CASA Jackson County
The Kansas City Chiefs have partnered with Jackson County CASA to be the Chiefs Charity Game Recipient for three consecutive seasons. Jackson County CASA advocates for children who go through the juvenile court system. Since its inception, more than $16 million has been donated to local agencies thanks to this fundraiser.

Red Friday
Since 1992, the Friday prior to the Kansas City Chiefs regular season opener has been known as "Red Friday" throughout Chiefs Kingdom. Since that time, more than $6 million has been generated for local children's charities, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City this season.

Walter Payton Man of the Year
The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field. Representing the best of the NFL's commitment to philanthropy and community impact, 32 players are selected as their team's Man of the Year and become eligible to win the national award. The winner of the award each year receives a $250,000 donated to the winner's charity of choice. All other 31 nominees receive up to $40,000 donated to their charity of choice. All donations are courtesy of the NFL Foundation and Nationwide.

KC Ambassadors
The KC Ambassadors are a charitable organization made up of former Chiefs players that have made significant contributions to the club. They are celebrated throughout the NFL and provide support to the Chiefs Community Caring Team with appearances and financial support. The Ambassadors support a number of charitable organizations each year and continually demonstrate their commitment to a better Kansas City.

Red Coaters
The Kansas City Red Coaters are a community-service organization comprised of working professionals and individuals who are passionate about the Chiefs. For over 50 years, the Red Coaters have represented the team on game day, in addition to volunteering with organizations from a variety of civic and charity events, golf tournaments, community services, Harvesters food distribution, school reading programs, NFL Play 60 events and the Cook for Kids program for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.
